What is personal information?
Personal information is any kind of information that may be used to identify you to some extent.
What information do I collect about you, and how I do that?
My website will leave cookies on your computer or mobile device, and I may automatically collect information about your visit. This information may include your operating system, your browser ID and browser activity. This information is collected with the use of log files or other tracking technologies.
If you sign up to my newsletter and/or using the contact form, you are voluntarily giving me information that I collect. First of all, you will leave your email address with me. Receiving my newsletter will also collect information about your IP address, date and time when you read my newsletters or click on the content. I use MailChimp to collect this information, and they do that by using web beacons.
Why I collect information about you
I need to process information about you in order to give you the best experience on my website.
My processing of your personal information given to me as a survey contribution will always be limited to what you send me and will only be used for research and publication purposes.
There is no advertising on my website, and I do not partner with third parties or networks for advertising purposes.
How do we store information about you?
Your email address, IP address along with date and time when you choose to interact with my newsletter will be stored with MailChimp.
If you have send me information to be used for research this information will be stored with Survey Monkey.
Both of these third parties are GDPR compliant, which means that they will carefully store your information in secure ways.
Who has access to my information about you
Besides me, only the third parties that I use to store your data and those who I use to enhance your experience as a visitor at my website, including my webhosting service, will have access to some of your data.
All third parties are GDPR complaint, which means they are committed to encrypt your personal information and limit the processing of your data to only what is necessary according to their purposes and your legal rights.
For how long time do I process your information?
I will keep your email address for as long as you choose to be subscribed to my newsletter. If you choose to unsubscribe from my mailing list, then your email address and all information about you related to receiving my newsletter will be deleted immediately at that time.
If you have contributed with personal information by answering one of my research questionaires, then I will delete your information when my research is done, which in most cases will be at the time of book publication.
According to the Data Protection Regulation you have a number of rights in relation to my processing of your personal information. If you want to use your rights, please contact me.
Upon your request I will, at any time, update your subscriber profile to correct or complete your contact information, or delete you as a subscriber to my newsletter.
You are entitled to view the information that I am processing about you, as well as a number of additional information about why and how I process your information.
Transferring your data
You may, in certain cases, have the right to transfer your personal data from one data manager to another without any hindrance.
You have the right to have incorrect information about yourself corrected and/or supplemented with additional information if this will make your personal information more complete and/or updated.
At any given time, you are entitled to have all information about you deleted.
If you have subscribed to my newsletter, all you have to do is click on the unsubscribe link in the bottom of any of my mails.
In case, you have contributed with personal data by answering my research questionaire or sent me an email, and want to withdraw your content to use your information in future book publication(s), I will delete your information upon your request. All you have to do is send your request to: karin[at]nokidslife[dot][com].
In some cases, you may object to my otherwise legitimate processing of your personal information.
